Lemont Indians Youth Lacrosse Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the age groups for your teams? We have 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U teams. The age of the player on the previous August 31st will determine what age group they play in.  (So 8U is for anyone aged 8 or Under on August 31st, 2017)
  • When is your season? We play in the United Southland League Spring season. Practice starts in March and the final games/tournaments are in June
  • When do you practice? Typically, 12U and 14U teams will practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. The 8U and 10U teams may only practice on Tuesday and Thursday nights
  • Where do you practice? Our home fields are located at Bambrick Park in Lemont. Due to weather issues we do sometimes practice on the fields located on the corner of 127th Street and Covington Drive. Please note that some of our home games in the past have been played on the turf fields at Lemont High School
  • Do you offer a summer or fall season? At this time we do not play in a summer or fall league. We will hold fall instructional clinics and do recommend some summer and fall leagues nearby
  • Do you have try outs? No. Our goal is to teach the game of lacrosse and give each child as much playing time as possible
  • What is the cost for your spring season? The registration cost is $350 for the spring season. We do offer an early bird registration discount where the fee is $295. Uniforms typically cost approximately $110 and equipment is needed as well. For new players, who are not 100% sure that they will play several seasons, we do offer equipment rental (helmet and pads only) for around $100 per season. You would need to purchase a stick. You will also need a valid U.S. Lacrosse membership through the end of June ($25 per year) for insurance. This money goes to the governing lacrosse body not the Indians and is a mandate
  • What other equipment will my child need? Mouth guards are mandatory and a protective cup is highly recommended
  • How much travel is involved? The vast majority of our games are played locally. Examples include Tinley Park and Orland Park. You can expect 2 games in Indiana at Chesterton and Crown Point. There is an excellent tournament that we participate in located in Peoria each year
  • I want to register. How do I register? Log on to our home page at http://lemontindiansyouthlacrosse.com/ . When registration is open, you will see an orange registration button on the top right side of the home page. We accept credit cards. Please remember that your child will need a valid U.S. Lacrosse number through the end of June. The registration system will help you pay for the U.S. Lacrosse number and our registration fee

  • 2018 Season:
    • As our club had grown and become more successful, the Board felt that it is in the best interest of the organization to leave the United Southland Lacrosse League and to join the Illinois Boys Lacrosse Association (IBLA) starting in the spring of 2018. This is not a decision made lightly and we would like to thank the Southland League for everything that they have taught us and done for us over the years. The move to IBLA will mean that we will be playing teams such as Lincoln Way, Glen Ellyn, Elmhurst, Western Springs, Hinsdale South, Southside Storm, Hustle, Tinley Park, Wheaton, and Fox Valley, which will be a challenge and we will grow as a result.
    • Additionally, we have secured indoor practice facilities for the beginning of the 2018 training. We will have indoor practices on Sundays and Fridays starting on March 4th though March 30th at the Megaplex in Homer Glen. This should avoid cancelations due to inclement weather.
