What are the age groups for your teams? We have four divisions: Minis(1st-2nd grade), Juniors(3rd-4th grade), Minors(5th-6th grade) and Majors(7th-8th grade). Every year we get new players with no experience at all age levels, so it's never too late to join.
When is your season? We play in the Illinois Boys Lacrosse Association(IBLA) Spring season. Practice starts in March and the final games/tournaments are the first weekend in June. (And though "Boys' is in the IBLA name, we have girls playing at all ages.
When do you practice? During March, we practice Wednesday and Friday night at the Homer Glen Megaplex. In April we move to outside fields in Lemont. Minis and Junious play Tuesday-Thursday, while Minors and Majors play Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday. Practice times start at 5:30-7:00, but around May the days get longer and practice shifts to 6:00-7:30.
Do you offer a summer or fall season? At this time we do not play in a summer or fall league. We will hold fall instructional clinics and do recommend some summer and fall leagues nearby
Do you have try outs? No. Our goal is to teach the game of lacrosse and give each child as much playing time as possible. But starting this year, both Minors and Majors will have an A and B team based on player's ability. Team assignments will be determined during our indoor practices.
What is the cost for your spring season? The registration cost is $295 for Minis and $350 for everyone else. New uniforms cost $60(jersey and shorts) that you can re-use as long as it fits. We offer rentals for helmet, shoulder pads, gloves, elbow pads and stick, or you can purchase your own. You will also need a valid U.S. Lacrosse membership through the end of June ($25 per year) for insurance. This money goes to the governing lacrosse body not the Indians and is a mandate
What other equipment will my child need? Mouth guards and a protective cup(boys) are required.
How much travel is involved? The vast majority of our games are played locally. The only real travel tournament is May 16th/17th in Washington(just outside Peoria) that is often the highlight of the year.
I want to register. How do I register? Log on to our home page at http://lemontindiansyouthlacrosse.com/ . When registration is open, you will see an orange registration button on the top right side of the home page. We accept credit cards. Please remember that your child will need a valid U.S. Lacrosse number through the end of June. The registration system will help you pay for the U.S. Lacrosse number and our registration fee
